Application
Lyso PAF (from Heart PC) (1-alkyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) has been used to study its inhibitory actions on alkyl-PAF-induced death in Swiss albino mice. It may be used as an acyl acceptor in the determination of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) acyltransferase (LPAAT) activity.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Lyso-platelet activating factor (lyso-PAF)can stimulate inflammation in a murine model of pleurisy. It acts as a stable metabolite and a precursor of PAF. The turnover oflyso-PAFto PAF is expected to induce continued inflammation in target organs or tissues.
General description
Lyso-platelet activating factor (lyso-PAF)is the alkyl homolog of lysophosphatidylcholine.
